You're already a month old, little guy! When I look back on all the adjustments and changes and figuring everything out, I wouldn't say that it has gone by fast, but when I think that it has been a month since I was in the hospital trying to get you into the world, it doesn't seem like that long ago.
Here are a couple things that are going on with you right now...
-You don't sleep in your crib yet. It's either the swing or the bassinet. But last night I put you in the crib and watched you on the monitor. You never went to sleep, but you were perfectly content just looking around in there for about an hour.-You seem to have little tummy aches once in a while. This is dad pumping you legs trying to get the bubbles out. And it works!-You're favorite spot is the changing pad. You only cry during major diaper changes, but usually you cooperate quite well. And often we just hang out in there after the diaper is changed. You're very curious about the shelf above the table and you love looking around. A couple times I thought about putting the changing pad in your crib for you to sleep on.-You have a cute little 'coo' that you do once in a while. Its kind of like a little sigh and it makes you look and sound so content.
-You've become more content just being awake and looking around, squirming, kicking your legs, and relaxing.-You love the bath. It's my favorite thing! We have a baby tub for you and its fancy! Dad insisted on it and it was a great investment. It has a little pad for you to lounge in, as well as a jacuzzi kit that makes bubbles in the water, and a mini shower head to clean you off with. You LOVE it all! You always stick your feet down where the bubbles come out, you love having water run over you, you've never cried when we get it in your eyes and on your face and you act like you want to stay there all night. We just need to work on that whole peeing in the tub thing. -You're gripping onto things a lot now. My shirts, the strings on my hoodies, burp clothes, blankets, etc. You have a pretty tight grip too!
-There are probably 3 nights a week that you get a good 5 hours of sleep in. Usually between 1AM and 6AM. The other 4 nights are so different though. Sometimes you're up 3 times between midnight and 7AM. Sometimes you don't fall asleep til 4AM, sometimes you're totally content being swaddled, and other times I think you might actually rip through the fabric with you strong arms and angry face. What's a mama to do??...-I never get sick of holding you and looking at you.-You're dad weighed you last night on the Wii Fit and you weigh 8 and a half pounds! I'm noticing little baby pudge on your legs and I love it! Chub up kiddo!
-Your eyes seem to be getting bigger and you follow me with them. I love how alert and curious you are.Today I put you in the outfit that you came home from the hospital in. You were drowning in it a month ago, and today it was a little tight. It's time to start packing away the newborn size. :(
