I really can't remember how much I've talked about your torticollis. I know I've mentioned it, but I'm not sure what I've covered. At your 4 month well check the doc said you probably needed a reshaping helmet. (The Torticollis has caused you to have flat head.) The doctor had us come in a month later, (today) for an evaluation. He also had us buy a support pillow for you to sleep on, which I couldn't find anywhere so I had to order it from England and it took 3 weeks. So the thing I wanted you to sleep on for the past month just came 5 days ago. And it also says to stop using it when the baby can role over. But we're using it anyway. Not always successfully, but you start on it anyway. This is how I found you this morning. Your head should be on that small middle part, not under it. And a couple days ago you pulled the whole huge pillow from under your head and put it on your tummy and fell back asleep. Silly kid.An employee of a fancy baby store in Anaheim suggested a neck support, so I bought that to try while we waited for the pillow. We use it in your car seat now and you don't mind it. We also have a lot of tummy time and I do neck stretches with you 3 times a day and we go to the chiropractor once a week. (I've decided that if/when you have siblings I'm taking them to a chiropractor for a couple adjustments in the first couple months. I'm convinced that its good for babies, with or without any problems.)
Anyway, your doctor was pleased today and said you're improving. I was hoping for the same or better because with most babies it just keeps getting worse. We're not in the clear yet, and we'll know in a month for sure if a helmet is needed, (which if it is, I'm becoming more and more ok with) and until then we'll keep stretching and pillowing and tummy timing.
Also, you gained 2 lbs. in less than a month. You're still a little small for your age, (which I'm kind of loving) but you're growing faster now. As long as you're healthy, you can stay skinny! You're 15 lbs. 2 oz. You're Uncle Dave's best friend has a boy who is only a week older than you and is about 7 pounds heavier! I don't think I could carry the car seat up and down our stairs if you were that big! You're starting to push it already.
